Gun Shop Standoff[]
- Main article: Gun Shop Standoff
Brett has taken over the gun store in the North Plaza along with two other survivors, Alyssa Laurent and Jonathan Picardsen. When Frank West enters the shop, they mistake him for a zombie and immediately open fire, forcing Frank to retreat. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up, Jonathan approaches Frank to question his motives.
Frank offers to escort them to the Security Room, assuring them that a helicopter is coming to rescue the survivors in the mall. Jonathan is skeptical, having seen the Security Room door welded shut in the Entrance Plaza. Brett then asks Frank to prove his story by bringing them a photograph of the duct.
After Frank returns with the requested photograph, the group is convinced and agrees to follow him to safety.
Infinity Mode[]

- Brett is the only survivor in the game armed with a Machinegun—a weapon not even sold in the mall's gun shop.
- In Infinity Mode, Brett is one of the few non-psychopaths who drops cooked food. His shotgun also makes him significantly more dangerous than the average survivor.
