David Bailey is a survivor appearing in Dead Rising and Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop.

He is found in an unfinished store in the North Plaza during the scoop Shadow of the North Plaza. He was wounded by Steven Chapman while attempting to retrieve food from Seon's Food & Stuff.

Shadow of the North Plaza

David is discovered cowering in an unfinished store in North Plaza. He is terrified when Frank West finds him, and cautiously asks if Frank is "one of the good guys." He reveals that he was injured when a deranged man attacked him while he was trying to collect food from the supermarket, claiming David was shoplifting. Frank offers him support, lending his shoulder to help escort David back to the Security Room.

Infinity Mode

In Infinity Mode, David appears in Hamburger Fiefdom in the Al Fresca Plaza from 6:00:00 to 6:07:00. He is able to run around freely, despite his injured leg. He is armed with a Mailbox and carries a Yogurt, a Cash Register, a Fire Extinguisher, a Potted Plant, and a Barbell.

Trivia

• In the beta version of Dead Rising, David's full name is listed as David Garrison, sharing a surname with the Brad Garrison.
• David wears a wedding band, implying he is married. However, nothing is known about his spouse's whereabouts or fate. Photographing the ring gives Frank a Drama genre bonus.
• He has the same last name as Amber Bailey and Crystal Bailey from Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record.
• The cause of David's injury is different in Chop Till You Drop: instead of being attacked by Steven, he claims to have sprained his ankle while fleeing from zombies.
  • This was most likely done to accommodate the adjusted timeline of events in the Wii version—David's scoop occurs after Steven's death in Chop Till You Drop, making the original cause of injury inconsistent.
• David's character model is a recolored version of Ryan LaRosa's model, with a few modifications.
• David is the first survivor in the game who Frank can escort by offering his shoulder, rather than holding their hand or carrying them.
• Along with Kindell Johnson and Jonathan Picardsen, David's lines and screams are recycled from Floyd Sanders and Jeff Meyer, who was voiced by Bill Farmer.
