The "Dead Rising Universe" (or "DR Universe" or "DRU") refers to the insular reality in which the Dead Rising series takes place including all persons, entities, locations, events and history. This extends to any Capcom-approved media beyond videogames, such as the Road to Fortune comic book mini-series.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, although classified as a "non-canon", "alternate timeline" or "what-if scenario", still takes place in and would be considered to be a part of the "Dead Rising Universe".

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • There are very few instances of real-life places, persons or entities appearing in the DRU. These include "The Sidewinder" album and all musicians credited in the record (Lee Morgan, Joe Henderson, Barry Harris, Bob Crenshaw and Billy Higgins), Las Vegas, Nevada and Playboy Magazine.
  • IDW makes reference to the concept of the "Dead Rising Universe" in their press release announcing the Road to Fortune mini-series, describing it as, "Deeply entrenched in the world of this best-selling game universe..." [1]
