The Exo Suit is a powered, armored suit featured in Dead Rising 4. It is a military-grade augmented cybernetic harness, manufactured by the Pentagon to combat the ever-growing zombie threat and adversaries such as Calder, who are too strong for contemporary weapons. The major flaw is that the auxiliary battery powering the suit lasts only two minutes. This limitation is mitigated through a wireless charging station used by Obscuris mercenaries, allowing for indefinite battery life until the user exits the recharge radius or initiates the suit's self-destruct sequence.
The Exo Suit can be found in large metal Obscuris containers and in various spots throughout the city. It is upgradable through various power-ups, including the Military Power-Up, Ice Power-Up, Vacuum Power-Up, and Electric Power-Up. There is also an unlockable special variant called the Zero Exo Suit.
Advantages[]
- Superhuman strength - The player can unleash powerful kicks, sending vehicles flying towards zombies, and deal three times more damage than usual. Objects like parking poles, heavy antiques, or Military Axes can be picked up and swung in full flexible force. Greater encumbrance allows carrying up to 108 kilograms, albeit limited to one type of weapon from each category.
- Infinite-like stamina and increased mobility - With enhanced servomotors, the user can sprint almost endlessly without getting tired.
- Enhanced protection systems and plating - Explosive, ballistic, or melee force is reduced by 75-80%, providing survivability in near-death situations. However, some vulnerable parts, such as the head, remain unarmored.
- Upgrade kit compatibility - Upgrade kits, found in interactive objects like slushie machines or video game arcade cabinets, enhance both offensive and defensive capabilities.
Disadvantages[]
- Limited battery usage - The Exo Suit operates on batteries lasting only 2 minutes, relying on wireless recharge stations for extended use.
- Built-in self-destruct module - To remove the suit, users must activate the self-destruct module, dispersing bursts of electrical energy that only affect living beings outside the suit due to insulation and shock protection systems.
- Under-developed prototype - Manually turning off the suit without self-destruction is still under research. Extended battery life is possible only through wireless recharge stations with costly modifications, requiring millions in funding to complete.
