Willamette Mysteries is a collectible in Dead Rising 4.

Frank can collect pieces of mysteries about the town of Willamette. There are several pieces to each mystery. Frank will gain PP for each clue collected, and will get a bonus amount of PP when a mystery is fully solved.

Mystery pieces are obtained by picking up newspapers. If the 'newspaper locations' map is purchased from the vendor at safe houses, newspapers will appear as yellow shields with the letter "W" in the middle on the map.

Trivia[]

Several characters throughout the “Dead Rising” franchise have been mentioned in several of these mysteries. These characters include: Frank West,Chuck Greene,Russell Barnaby,Katey Greene/Annie,Jessica McCarney,Brad Garrison,Brad Park and Darlene Fleischermacher.
The “Celebrity Birth” vintage newspaper is the only time that Pam Greene is mentioned by name in the “Dead Rising” games. Other than that, she was mentioned several times in Dead Rising 2, Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, and Dead Rising 3 and has appeared in the Dead Rising comic, Dead Rising: Road to Fortune.
According to one of the newspapers, Darlene Fleischermacher was originally a Willamette resident who was a known competitive eater. After winning a pie eating contest by consuming 19.7 lbs of banana cream pie in eight minutes, she claimed a prize consisting of an All You Can Eat gift card to Uncle Billy’s Buffet in Los Perdidos, California and moved there to seek regional opportunities of eating competitions. This could possibly explain how she ended up in Los Perdidos prior to the events of Dead Rising 3 as well as the reasoning behind her gluttonous nature. It’s interesting to note though that these newspaper clippings are from before The Willamette Incident in 2006 and that the events of Dead Rising 3 take place in the year of 2021, so it’d be odd to think that Darlene was at Uncle Billy’s at that time (possibly redeeming her gift card) over a decade later.
