The Fire Extinguisher is a weapon in Dead Rising.

It is used in the scoop Long Haired Punk to extinguish Paul after he lights himself on fire.

Spraying it on psychopaths will stun them, as they will break out in a coughing fit. If sprayed on a zombie, it will leave white residue.

Attacks

• Primary: Hold the button to spray the fire extinguisher.
• Thrown: Hold down the trigger to go into aim mode then press the button to throw the fire extinguisher.

Trivia

• The fire extinguisher has basically no effect on zombies, but has some very interesting uses:
  • The fire extinguisher can put out Cliff's flares during his psychopath battle.
  • The fire extinguisher can send Adam's balloons back at him, although aiming is rather tough.
  • Most importantly, this weapon is needed to save Paul from his own Molotov.
• Survivors will cough violently if sprayed with it. While of limited use normally, it can help in Infinity Mode if the player is not using unlockable weapons.
• Despite being a weapon with "ammo", when in aim mode, it is thrown. It shares this trait with the Stun Gun.
