The shotgun is considered by many to be the "trademark weapon" of zombie killing. It is a firearm found in the Huntin' Shack, but can also be found at the start of the game near Brian Reynold's corpse. You can also get one from Kindell Johnson if you choose to kill him, or if he dies. It can fire 20 shots before running out of ammo. Because this is a shotgun, it is devastating at close range. Its bullets fire in a cone shape, and are able to hit multiple zombies in a single shot. It is also an effective weapon against psychopaths. Cletus Samson will use this weapon against Frank during their encounter. In Dead Rising 2, it is replaced by a Mossburg type of shotgun.
Locations
- Three in the Huntin' Shack
- One on Brian Reynolds' corpse at the start of the game
- One carried by Kindell Johnson, and one carried by Jonathan Picardson.
Appearances
