The Special Ops are a modernized version of the Special Forces featured in the original game, appearing in Dead Rising 3.
Deployed by General John Hemlock, they are tasked with eliminating any remaining survivors or illegals in Los Perdidos, under the leadership of Adam Kane.
They are first encountered when disabling communication relays in Chapter 3, reappear during the confrontation with Hilde Schmittendorf, and are seen again while infiltrating the military base in Ingleton in Chapter 4. They also feature prominently during the battle with Red at the shipyard near the plane hanger.
Special Ops units also be found attempting to block off the South Bridge later in the game, and will shoot rockets at Nick if he attempts to drive by.
In addition to regular soldiers, Special Ops Zombies appear numerous times in the game, playing a significant role in Operation Broken Eagle as deceased members of Adam's team.
Battle Style[]
During combat, Special Ops soldiers typically wield Assault Rifles. However, in the later stages of the campaign, some are equipped with RPGs, notably during the boss fight with Red, where they fire missiles at Nick. Special Ops operatives also use Grenades and Flash Grenades to gain a tactical advantage in close-quarters combat.
Special Ops agents are among the toughest adversaries in the game. Their heavy armor provides them with head-to-toe protection from the player's attacks, and they can inflict substantial damage, depleting health more effectively than any zombie. They are also agile, capable of dodging and rolling to evade attacks.
In Nightmare Mode, they are even more lethal, able to withstand greater damage and fight more efficiently, making it advisable to act more strategic rather than impulsive while fighting them.
Trivia[]
- All Special Ops wear skull masks with their helmets; however, in Operation Broken Eagle, some of Adam's squad do not wear masks.
