The Steel Rack is a weapon in Dead Rising.
Like the Shelf and Sausage Rack, when the Steel Rack is thrown, it immediately breaks. It is a heavy weapon that cannot be carried in Frank West's inventory.
Steel Racks can be found on the Rooftop, in the Warehouse and in Cinema 1 of Colby's Movieland. In the scoop Barricade Pair, a steel rack is one of the many objects that make up the barricade outside of Weber's Garments.
Attacks[]
- Primary: Tap the
button to swing the steel rack. - Thrown: Hold down the
trigger to go into aim mode then press the button to throw the steel rack.

- There is a glitch with the Steel Rack. Pick up the Steel Rack outside the Security Room and carry it back inside. Any main story survivor such as Brad Garrison or Otis Washington can be pushed around with the rack. Simply talk to the one you wish to move, such as Otis, and when he is talking, press down on the directional pad to drop the rack. It will tip over into the survivor as long as you are facing them, and push them back. They have to be talking to you for this to work, and Otis will usually try to walk back to his old spot if you don't keep moving him.
- The Sausage Rack, Steel Rack and Shelf are tied for the 2nd most damaging weapons in the game, surpassed only by the Laser Sword.
