Wax On Wax Off is a mission in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It involves Tomomi Miyamoto being shot at by TK's mercenaries.

Overview[]

At 8:00pm on Day 2, Frank will receive a call from Stacey about a woman being shot at by TK's goons in the Underground Area. The fastest way to reach this area is via a the tunnel access door on the first floor of the west end of Palisades Mall. When Frank shows up, he must defeat the three mercenaries to recruit Tomomi.

Oh you took care of them, I am fine. If those cowards did not have weapons, my fists would have brought them all to an end. You sure were taking care of business. Where'd you learn to fight like that? I'm a world champion in many deadly arts. Master taught me well. I'll say! Well... I can show you how to get to the Safe House. Keep close though, there are plenty of zombies to fight. I hope your skill can match mine. Real men need no guns. Are you too weak to fight me with your own strength? In time your bullets will run out...Then what shall you do? You fight with no honor. A toad is no match for a swan! I shall continue to subtract from your numbers.

Trivia[]

The title of the mission is a reference to the film, "The Karate Kid" in which Mr. Miyagi teaches Daniel karate through repetitive household tasks, including waxing a car.^[1]
Tomomi will refuse any weapons offered to her but is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and will even execute a "crane technique" style front kick. This is another humorous nod to the film, "The Karate Kid".^[2]
